My client, an award winning law firm with offices in central London, provides a full range of commercial legal services to an enviable client base.

To assist in delivering the firms growth plans they are seeking to appoint an experienced PR Manager/.

Responsibilities

Working alongside the Director of Communications and Head of BD and accountable to the London Managing Partner the role involves:

  • Managing relationships with key target journalists including the legal trade press, verticals (geographic and sector), facilitating introductions, preparing media briefings, as well as assisting on responses to surveys and features
  • Drafting and seeking internal agreement on reactive press enquiries, preparing Q&A's and media briefings where required
  • Assisting the Director of Communications to provide regular guidance and advice to partners and teams on the London office approach to PR and overall positioning.
  • Assisting the Director of Communications and the Head of BD in London with developing and implementing PR plans for groups and practice areas, in line with agreed communications priorities.
  • Oversee and proactively execute on all facets of engagement with legal directories (Chambers, Legal 500, etc.), from announcement of deadlines to client referee highlighting and follow up
  • Provide support and proactively execute all elements of awards submission processes from organising and editing to approval and submission
  • Manage our external agency/PR suppliers.
  • Providing PR support for conferences and seminars: work with partners on all elements including awareness and monitoring of publicity.
  • Social media: expand the impact of PR by contributing to the Firm's social media efforts in close coordination with the Online team and serve as social media point across the London office.
  • Build and foster relationships with lawyers and business development colleagues.
Qualifications

The successful PR Manager will have the following skills and experience:

  • PR / Communications professional with a minimum of 4 years' experience
  • Professional services experience, ideally legal - Educated to degree level
  • Thorough understanding of business / commerce and interest in business developments
  • Articulate, with confidence to communicate with senior people taking ownership of tasks and projects
  • Able to manage and extract data from media databases
  • Team player, able to contribute to the wider team
  • Able to identify PR opportunities and manage PR campaigns
  • Naturally interested in the news agenda at both national and business level
  • Thorough understanding of the need for coordinated internal and external communications
  • Strong media contacts - Strong and natural networker
  • Ability to understand complex issues and develop PR angles
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
