Description

I am inviting applications from Criminal Solicitors with Duty Accreditation for my client in Blackburn.  Covering duty slots from the next rota (from April 2022) the successful candidate must be within the required travelling distance of Blackburn / Burnley however there may be a requirement to work on cases in other parts of the North West.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will be responsible for:

  • Representing clients detained at police stations
  • Attending police stations
  • Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Court cases
  • Appeals
  • Bail applications
  • Drafting instructions to counsel and expert witnesses
Qualifications

For applications to be successful they need to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

  • Solicitors with at least 2 years’ PQE
  • Solid experience in criminal defence matters
  • Crime duty accreditation is essential
  • Excellent communication and client care skills will be crucial
  • Able to manage a demanding caseload, with minimal supervision
  • A pragmatic, professional and positive approach is required for this role
